The Royal Burgh of Jedburgh rests in the valley of Jed Water, amidst beautiful rolling countryside and is known locally as "Jethart” because of the warm and welcoming attitude of it’s residents.

Jedburgh houses a wealth of historical sites and architecture, including the 900 year old Jedburgh Abbey, Jedburgh Castle Jail, Mary Queen of Scots House, the Capon tree, which has stood for over 1000 years, and Hutton’s Unconformity, one of the most important geological sites in the world.
There is also a lively calendar of local and community events with the highlight of the year being the Jethart Callant's Festival in July. Visitors can also enjoy The Royal British Legion Pipe Band and Jedforest Instrumental Band concerts which take place at The Mercat Cross, next to the Jubilee Fountain as well as many other events through out the Summer months.
